What are Sound Baths & Sound Healings?
Sound healing is known to be the therapeutic use of sound, including music and chanting. Sound has been used for thousands of years to help people relax or reach an altered state of consciousness.
During a sixty-minute sound bath in a group session, one master drummer plays the drum designed for sound healing or uses his/her voice to lead a singing bowl meditation. Much of the sound bath is composed of people lying down on the floor with their eyes closed, allowing themselves to be bathed in harmonic tones and vibrations.
Benefits of Sound Healing
The benefits of sound healing can be profound and far-reaching. Some people who have experienced sound baths have reported feeling:
- Deep relaxation and calmness
- Enhanced creativity
- Clarity of mind and improved focus
- Reduced stress and anxiety
- Improved sleep quality
- More energy and vitality
- A stronger sense of connection to oneself, others, and the natural world
- Greater physical well-being as a result of reduced stress levels and improved sleep quality
Sound baths can also help release emotional blockages and traumas. Many people find that they cry during a sound bath, which is often seen as a sign that the body is releasing deep-seated emotions and toxins. The experience of crying in a sound bath can be incredibly cathartic and healing for the individual.
